Michael Beddall is an Ottawa based artist. His work explores the Canadian wilderness through oil painting, with a focus on light, colour, and the idealized beauty of nature. Inspired by the Group of Seven, particularly Lawren Harris and Tom Thomson, he approaches the landscape not as a literal record but as a space for interpretation and transformation.
Each painting reimagines the wilderness, blending memory, imagination, and observation into landscapes that are vivid and dreamlike.
He’s completed numerous commissions and exhibitions, and has sold paintings in Canada, the United States, and Japan.
